Hello (not so) Little Friend,
I am sure it must be a matter of great pride and joy for you and your families that you have achieved a major ane significant milestone in your academic careeR.
With the opportunities that you would have got to reach to this stage, you would have been probably the best placed to perform, BUT, these provide only a strong platform. And as we know, from the analogy of drama theatre, that the best stage do not assure best performance. It's an actor herself who has to finally perform. So it's a pleased that you made the 'platform' proud by your performance.
As they say, there is no better motivator than Success. And we are sure you would be motivated .....
..... to maintain and improve this Success and performance. Our Best Wishes are with you, Always. And a word of caution on challenges too. Success is motivator but it's also a spoiler. The difference is in where we let it stay. If we keep it in front of our eyes as a bench mark to better, it's a great motivator. If we allow it to go in to our head, it is a potential spoiler. And I am sure you would only do it in better manner as the GenX.
The times and environment you would live is going to be the time of great opportunities aa well as of larger challenges than today's time. And like any such time in past the Performers have greater chance to succeed in such situation as they concentrate on opportunities, develop ability to overcome challenges and 'convert adversities in to opportunities'. Choice for you is clear.
Few words of wisdom from Wise people:
- Think Big, Think Compassion
- Set Goals - SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Assignable, Relevant, Time-related)
- Picture Present, Picture Future (Actual physical sketch of what's today and what you want in future)
- Any journey starts with First Step, and (equally importantly) ends with Last Leap
- Learn from Nature e.g. Tree - Strong at roots Large and Tall above, Seasons - Change is a necessity for Life, Rover - Move on and you will reach your destiny, Sky - Contain all within but remain calm and quiet, ... ...
- Review your Goal and Future Picture for relevance and redundancy.
- Beyond a point, Happy & Healthy Life that's useful to others is a better life than only a successful life. Give back what you have been fortunate enough to receive.
You may not fully understand some of the above, at this point of time. (I even didn't know most of them at your age :) ). But it's my hope that you would keep these with you as you grow and will come across them along the path of your Success. And possibly you wouldn't find them as unknown as otherwise.
